I was born and raised around a town called Muscle Shoals
It’s the birthplace of rockin’ good music - RnB and soul

I took a job in Memphis so I moved my family
I raised my kids in that river bluff town of B.B. and the King

Now my son has moved to Austin - under that Texas star
With his wife and little babies - playing his guitar
And to this old man those kids are grand - life sure is a mystery
